City Chic Lust – Youth in Revolt

Every now and then I come across an outfit that satisfies all my lusts in one. I always have a thing for flowy drapes, leather, animal prints, and chunky necklaces. I came across this mix and match set on Polyvore that I fell in love with. I love a good edgy fit with a touch of animal print and a beachy flair.

Keep this look polished and sassy by keeping your hair sleek, and accessories to a minimum! You don’t want to end up looking like Peg Bundy ;)

Tried and True Basics

Maybe I’m lazy or boring when it comes to fashion, but I often favor the effortless and simple look. I rely heavily on tried and true basics – skinny jeans, light-colored tops, high heels, trench coats, cardigans, and blazers. I love conservative palettes (blue, grey, and black) and often find myself gravitating towards creamy whites and understated nudes. Every once in a while though (when I feel adventurous), I am drawn to bold prints or colors that make even more of an impact when paired together.

After my trip to Seattle, the gloomy weather reminded me that I should never take for granted the fact that I can leave the house sans rain boots and plastic weatherproof ponchos. And to start incorporating a bit more adventurous elements into my tried and true basics.

Happy Wednesday! xx

Pastel Pop

I love the idea of simple colors paired with striking jewelry. Neutral tones make for the perfect canvas for elaborate statement pieces. Here I am wearing a Cascade bib necklace by Kate Spade over the collar of my shirt dress.

Since I’ve been wearing so many natural tones lately, I’ve been all about adding bright accents, like this pair of sea green faux suede heels, and my Aldo color block pastel clutch – both are at the top of my list.

Oversized sunglasses add a touch of glamor to any ensemble.
